Rev. Karen Madrone came to Unitarian Universalism and received her call to ministry at her home church in Greensboro, NC. Rev. Karen attended seminary at Union Theological Seminary in New York City. She graduated with her Master of Divinity and received ordination in 2019. Rev. Karen’s call to ministry is in Interim Ministry, assisting congregations as they transition from who they are now to who they want to be in the future. Prior to serving UUFD, she served as the Interim Minister at South Valley UU Society in Cottonwood Heights, UT. Previous to UU ministry she worked in education and government settings in North Carolina and Missouri, where she received her Master’s in Public Administration. Rev. Karen and her wife Michelle Giorgi have a dog, Letty, and a cornsnake, Don. They split their time between Decatur and Chicago where Michelle is employed as a Veterinary Technician at MedVet Chicago.
